SUMMARY:The Utah Regional FIRST Robotics Competition 2023
DESCRIPTION:Under strict rules\, limited time and resources\, teams of students are challenged to raise funds\, design a team “brand\,” hone teamwork skills\, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors.  As close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.

SUMMARY:Larsen Elementary Star Fest
DESCRIPTION:Larsen Elementary does an annual event we’ve participated with in the past called Star Fest\, celebrating science and astronomy. They’re still working out the details this year\, but they often have a portable planetarium that comes\, blacklight games and painting\, glow games like glow bowling\, etc. It’s a way for the students to have an activity while learning about astronomy and science and have fun. \nFor the garrison and sister clubs\, we’ve generally had an area where people can get their picture taken with the characters present and tried to keep that to 3-5 characters at a time. Other characters are welcome to wander and interact outside this though\, potentially participating in activities\, etc. \nNot 100% certain on start/stop times yet. I can get that in a few days. \nLinks to previous year events\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/863856767403025/?ref=newsfeed\nhttps://ut501st.com/event/larsen-elementary-star-party/ \nLet me know if there’s anything else you need.

SUMMARY:Meet-The-Command
DESCRIPTION:Members\, cadets\, and family come by the Murray Library to meet us. Come to say hi\, ask us questions\, and to find out what we do.  Come to socialize with other members. We will have tables set up for anyone who would like to come coin or patch trade. There will be some light portable snacks and drinks. \nThis is meant to be more of an open house style event\, come when you want and leave when you want. The library asks that due to limited parking we park in the 28 spaces along the east side of the lot. We will be in the large meeting room. \nHope to see you all there!
