DESCRIPTION:Best Seat in the House is sponsoring some families to go to the Ice Castles in Midway\, UT and they have asked for a few members of the Alpine Garrison to be there to provide a very memorable experience for those families. This is on President’s Day Holiday. They have asked for a Vader and a couple other troopers (Keeping in mind\, desert characters may not be in their element for this troop). If a Vader is not able to go\, they are good with other characters. We’ll take the first two sign-ups and a Vader or the first three sign-ups if a Vader can’t make it. (I’m not able to attend even though it says I am)\nMasks must be worn by the troopers and there will be a roped off area to ensure social distancing. Other precautions\, it is snow and ice\, cleats on your boots are not only a very good idea\, but a must. I went a couple years ago as Vader and the metal cleats you can attach to your shoes work very well\, the rubber spiked cleats\, not so much. Even then\, be careful as you can still slip and fall.\nSpotters must also wear masks and are not allowed to handle guest’s phones for picture taking. Guests must take their own pictures.\nThe event starts promptly at 11:00 am\, so those attending will need to be kitted up and in place prior to that. Those attending will be able to stay after 12:00 am\, but that is when the public will be allowed in.\nKit up at your car.\nAs Brenda mentioned\, this is a limited character event.\nEvent contact is Farris Gerard\, whom many of us know.

Costumers will remain behind stanchions while they are trooping to help to maintain social distancing. There are to be no costumers in the store while trooping. Costumers and spotters must wear a mask at all times while in public. Failure to wear a mask/ disregard for this rule will result in not being allowed to sign up for public troops in the future during the pandemic. Spotters and costumers are not allowed to touch any item that the public would hand to them\, including phones to take a picture. Please maintain distance during and after the troop. We know it has been a while\, but safety is paramount to insure we can continue doing this.

Garrison Command will determine who the Garrison’s spoke person will be\, but anyone who wishes to kit up and be part of the panel may do so. SUMMARY:Star Wars Night for Special Needs Individuals
DESCRIPTION:we are doing is a Star Wars themed activity for special needs kids\,  ages 12 up through their twenties.  What I’m wanting to do is have a bunch of stormtroopers/Star Wars characters there about 6:30 to greet the kids as they come into the building.  They have an opening exercise welcome thing from 7:00 to 7:15pm. Then they’ll divide up into groups and rotate from room to room playing different themed Star Wars games for like the next hour or so.  I’m hoping that during that time and towards the end\, if the kids want it\, the cosplayers would take pictures with them.  Some of the kids will have sensory issues\, and will be in a quiet room\, but I bet they’d love to see the characters.  So all together\, I’m thinking it will be 2 or 21/2 hours.  The address is 11400 S 1300 E\, right on the Draper sandy border. I would think anywhere from 4 to 10 people would be awesome!
