This means we do not have to cast and teams do not have to pay performers. Teams must welcome all fan groups on a first come basis and cannot ask for specific characters or specific amounts. They can set a maximum limit based on accommodations. Open Invites are just that: an invitation to fan groups to show up at an event in costume. Teams cannot direct fan group members to do any activities or be anywhere specific at any specific time – they may provide the groups with a list of activities to self-organize and participate in\, but it is at fan group members’ own discretion. We strongly prefer that characters not throw out first pitches\, participate in puck drops\, sing the National Anthem or things of that nature – if they want\, fan group members may escort a child or fan to the mound\, etc.\, but must not be directed to do so. Characters should not hold\, wear\, sit in or stand on any branded item or logo\, especially with a team emblem. The fan groups are welcome to be photographed with others wearing the team logo/brands or in front of signage featuring the team logo/brand\, however. Christmas Box International\, Utah Foster Care\, and DCFS are partners on this event. We will do the usual meet and greet and photos. We will also assist with the kid’s run that takes place on the track and the egg hunt. We will be making a basket for the silent auction ahead of time and help with it is appreciated. You are also welcome to make one of your own.\nWe have the locker rooms for dressing. Multiple teams are invited\, and I’m on the planning committee. If you guys are able to attend\, I would ask that at this event\, all cosplayers act as if they are part of the same team and avoid cliques. We call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.â€? \nUnder strict rules\, limited time and resources\, teams of students are challenged to raise funds\, design a team “brand\,” hone teamwork skills\, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.

DESCRIPTION:Our facility is a licensed ICF/ID (Intermediate Care Facility) and we provide services to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. The first week of December our facility participates in “Spirit Week” which our residents chose a theme for each day of the week. Star Wars is always on the agenda! \nDue to Covid\, our residents have not left the facility since mid-March 2020. We thought we would make this year fantastic and surprise them with the 501! \nWe have a secure room for the 501 to change and secure their belongings. We have a large dinning area and outside facility grounds for your team to interact and help us celebrate the wonders of Star Wars. \nAll residents are fully Covid-19 vaccinated including booster\, 90% of staff vaccinated. Daily Covid-19 screenings for all staff and visitors. Our facility follows all CDC/CMS guidelines as well as extended sanitation practices. We have not had any cases of Covid-19 in over a year and we do everything possible to ensure the health and well-being of our residents and staff.

The parade begins at 22nd street and ends at 27th street. 2021 Theme: “O-Town Christmas”. \nHave fun and get LIT!  This is a extremely fun troop where you can light up your kit will Christmas lights and just have fun. \nDress warmly under your kit as it will get cold.  Kit up at your car. \nIt is best to have some groups park cars at the end of the parade route and some take others to the start.  It’s a long walk both ways\, so some planning is good.  Also\, get there early to get good parking. \n  \nAdditional info from Robert Bixler (point-of-contact): \n\nI will be posting two things here today\, this is the first. We will be receiving our staging location on Tuesday of next week. As soon as I get this I will post it here. Andy Gallup will be towing one trailer\, and Aubrey Kuefner will possibly be towing the second based on access to it. Shawn Gordon will be bringing their land speeder as well. They are the masters of their areas\, so if they tell you something about their vehicle\, that is law. We will have 100 ft in the staging area\, which should accommodate all three vehicles. The trailers will need to be lit\, so if you have any extra Christmas lights laying around\, we could possibly use them. Staging will begin at 4 pm\, and we will need to have the vehicles there as close to this as possible.\n\n\nChildren under the age of 12 are not allowed on the parade route as per the rules from the parade itself. If someone present is under 12\, they will be asked to leave\, no exceptions\, no leeway. As well\, anyone under 18 will not be allowed on the trailers themselves. Once you are on the trailer\, you are on it\, and are not able to jump off or in during the parade\, unless there is an extreme circumstance. Safety is our main concern\, and we will be ridged on this. If we see anyone jump in or out of the trailers on the parade route without due reason\, we will ask you to sit out next Light Parade.\n\n\nTwo years ago\, it was extremely cold. Right now it is looking as a low in the 30’s for that day\, but can always change. Please take the necessary precautions for this. Foot and hand warmers are always a great idea. As such\, a walk back to your car could be very detrimental. Please employ a buddy system to get to the start and from the end of the parade. This means\, have someone in your group park towards the end of the route\, and then drive them towards the start and then park near the start. Then after the parade is over\, the car that was parked at the end can then transport everyone back to the car at the start of the route. There will be some space on the floats to transport people back\, but space will be limited\, and do not bank on that being your one options please.

SUMMARY:The Haunted Woods
DESCRIPTION:The Haunted Woods is an annual charity event in the SLC community. It is the only family friendly haunted attraction in Utah. We present a “Silly Trail” and a “Spooky Trail” to welcome every age guest. Because of this\, it is very popular and there is always a REALLY\, REALLY long line. We are desperate to help keep our guests happy and entertained while they wait in line. It is a 3-night event\, and all proceeds go to help fight child and domestic abuse in Utah\, through the National Exchange Club of Utah. One night is Star Wars Night\, one night is Disney Villains night\, and one night is Superhero night. Our friends at Cosplay Utah are helping with Disney Villains and Superheroes night\, but we really need help with Star Wars night. All we need is Star Wars people to walk along the line and greet people and EVERYONE will want photos – which is part of the fun. Lots of kids will come in Star Wars costumes that day and they will LOVE seeing your group. You helped us 2 years ago \nWe would have asked last year\, but didn’t dare due to COVID. We are very happy to offer 2 passes to the event for anyone who can help come in costume and hang out for a while (staying for the whole 3 hours is not needed\, just walk once through the line and that is plenty). Our event also offers a donut and hot cocoa to all guests — including costumed helpers. We’d love to have you join us again \, and we’ll do all we can to accommodate any needs you have. DESCRIPTION:Foothill Elementary in Orem\, UT is hosting it’s annual Fall Festival Fundraiser in September and our theme is Star Wars “The Force is Strong at Foothill”. This Festival fundraiser is planned by the PTA to raise money for all of the school programs throughout the year and to raise money to support our teachers and students.\n\n\nWe have an amazing turn out of over 2\,000 people usually and go all out with a BIG carnival. We would love to have as many of you attend as possible. We plan to do a laser tag shoot out\, save the eggs from Grogu\, Jedi training camp (battle a villain at the end)\, character dance battle (we will cross our fingers for this to happen)\, Jabba the hutt menagerie\, and our finale will be saving a character from Darth Vader or Kylo Ren with the help of all the kids who have gone though the Jedi Training. This are just some of our ideas that we have going.
