The morning begins with a 5K and KidsK\, followed by a carnival including bounce houses\, rope courses\, balloon animals\, dancing\, and food\, with the highlight being all of the characters who come to support the run and enjoy the party after. We expect our event to attract nearly 5\,000 walkers and raise more than $500\,000 to support type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Every year\, 40\,000 people in the United States alone are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Besides coping with a lifelong dependence on insulin\, these adults and children must face the constant threat of devastating and life-threatening complications. T1D requires intensive\, 24/7 management. There are no days off\, and there is no cure.\nJDRF is the leading global organization funding T1D research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D.  As the largest charitable supporter of T1D research\, JDRF has funded over $2.5 billion in research funding since 1970 and is currently funding research in more than 20 countries worldwide. DESCRIPTION:We are going to do an updated group photo! We will still do a FanX photo at FanX but this will be the new photo for media and PR usage. We would like to have as many people as possible.\nShawn has looked for a place to do group photos and this place he found is perfect! In addition to other photos we would like one that includes cadets as well. This is a good time of year before it gets to hot and as of now there are no events this day.\nIdeally having everyone arrive around 9am will give us plenty of time to kit up and start taking photos between 9:45 and 10am.
